Cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC) is an active ingredient with well-established oral health benefits. It has been conclusively shown to be effective in preventing plaque build-up and reducing gingivitis (early gum disease). CPC has established anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties. It is found in some therapeutic mouthwashes, including GUM Paroex and Dentyl Active, certain kinds of toothpaste e.g. GUM Paroex Gel, and throat and nasal sprays.
